Deputies found more than 200 marijuana plants growing on a San Bernardino property.
SAN BERNARDINO >> Deputies uncovered a large marijuana grow Monday morning after responding to reports of multiple shots fired.
Deputies found evidence of a shooting in front of the home at 2235 W. Kern St. in San Bernardino, according to a sheriff’s news release.
Luis Alfonso Quezada, 33, of San Bernardino was found in a home on the property. Sheriff’s officials allege Quezada was in possession of a handgun and a rifle.
In addition, deputies found 200-plus marijuana plants growing in the rear yard of the property while searching for other possibly armed individuals.
Detectives believe Quezada was growing and selling the harvested pot illegally, according to the release.
Evidence obtained by the investigators suggests Quezada was not in compliance with state medical marijuana ordinances, according to the release.
He was arrested and booked into Central Detention Center on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, sales of marijuana and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was released into the custody of Homeland Security, which is investigating a separate incident.
