RANCHO CUCAMONGA >> Police and family members are hoping the public can help them find Jay Ishimoto, a local man reported missing since July 18.

That night, about 7 p.m., family members say the 48-year-old Japanese man packed a bag and left his home in the 6500 block of Ash Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga, according to a San Bernardino County sheriff’s news release. He was reportedly driving a gray 2014 Toyota Prius with California license plate 7FBR852 and a damaged rear bumper. The news release states he told his wife he would travel through Barstow on his way to Las Vegas.

Ishimoto’s family said he might need medical treatment due to a recent knee surgery that makes it difficult for him to walk. They also worry he might harm himself because of something he said before he left, the news release states.

Ishimoto is 5 foot 3 inches in height and weighs 173 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes. If you know where he might be or have seen him, please call Rancho Cucamonga Police Department at 909-477-2886, sheriff’s dispatch at 909-941-1488, or the nearest law enforcement agency.
