Enrollment is now being accepted for state-funded preschool programs for low-income families at seven sites in the Adelanto and Victor Elementary school districts operated by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. Morning and afternoon three-hour classroom sessions are available at most sites. Eligibility for the programs is based on income determined on a sliding scale. Students must be 4 years old by Sep. 1 of the school year to receive first priority, and 3 years old by Sept. 1 to receive second priority. Additionally, sites are seeking part-time assistants and substitutes to work for the programs. Parents with children attending the preschool are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom.
