Blue Cut fire postpones this weekend's High Life Music Festival in Victorville

High Life Music Festival in Victorville POSTPONED NOT CANCELED

The High Life Music Festival, set for Saturday and Sunday at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds in Victorville, has been postponed because of the Blue Cut fire. Organizers issued a release on Friday saying the hip-hop and medical marijuana centered festival – with headliners Rick Ross and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony – was not going to take place this weekend.“We wanted to make sure everyone knew,” said spokeswoman Cecy Galvan on Friday. The festival made its decision after Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency in San Bernardino County because of the fire that has evacuated thousands and made travel difficult. Additionally, the grounds are currently being used as an evacuation and animal shelter.

updatesTicketholders will be granted admission to the future date when determined, officials said. There has been nothing determined about refunds, Galvan said.“At this point, we’re just trying to reschedule the date first before we start speaking about a refund,” she said. “The tickets weren’t refundable.”Galvan added that organizers are attempting to reschedule all of the artists to perform on the new date.

In the news release, officials from the festival said: “The High Life Music Festival would like to send our thoughts and prayers to the High Desert community affected by the tragic wild fires. It is with great disappointment, but a necessary decision we had to make to reschedule this year’s High Life Music Festival.

“Safety is a priority for our festivalgoers, vendors, patients, sponsors, exhibitors, and staff,” the release continued.

“We also respect the governor’s state of emergency declaration and the safety of our community and first responders,” according to the release. “We apologize to those who had planned to visit the area this weekend and hope you bear with us as we continue to make arrangements for a rescheduled date.”
