Wells Fargo donates $25,000 to help Blue Cut fire victims & Here's how you can help Blue Cut


A $25,000 donation from Wells Fargo will go to the American Red Cross to help victims of the Blue Cut fire, according to the bank.

Additionally, the bank's customers can also donate through Aug. 31 via ATMs throughout California. There is no charge to donate and 100 percent of the donations will go ? the Red Cross.

“We are deeply concerned about our customers, neighbors and our own team members affected by the wildfires,” Evelin Martinez, Wells Fargo area president, said in a news release. “We are committed to doing our part to support recovery and rebuilding across California and thank the American Red Cross for spearheading efforts to assist our communities.”

“Thanks to Wells Fargo for making such a generous donation and for encouraging the bank's customers to support American Red Cross disaster relief efforts,” said Linda Voss, regional CEO of the American Red Cross Desert to the Sea Region, which serves Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. “We depend on the generosity of the American people to perform our mission. These donations enable us to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small.”

If you would like to help those involved with the Blue Cut fire, the following are accepting donations:

• Red Cross, www.redcross.org, text a $10 donation to Redcross@90999; or call 800-733-2767.

• The Salvation Army, 14585 La Paz Drive in Victorville, is accepting water from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Information: 760-245-2545

• LifeStream blood bank, 384 W. Orange Show Road in San Bernardino, is accepting blood donations 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday, and 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Information: 800-879-4484; Lstream.org.

• Deseret Industries Thrift Store, 16593 Valley Blvd. in Fontana, is accepting donations for those affected by the Blue Cut fire. Hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Contact Dennis Massey, 909-854-3946.

• The Salvation Army, 925 10th St. in San Bernardino, is accepting gift donations for fire victims. Hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Information: 909-888-1336

• San Bernardino County Local Assistance Center at San Bernardino County Fairgrounds, 14800 7th St., Victorville, is open for residents affected by the fire to obtain services such as disaster assistance, property information and insurance claims.
