Victorville teenager behind bars on suspicion of attempted murder

VICTORVILLE A 16-year-old male Juvenile from Victorville has been arrested for attempted murder following a Monday night shooting.

On August 29, 2016, at approximately 10:40PM, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a shopping center at 15235 Hook Boulevard, in response to shots being fired at a security guard.

According to authorities, the security guard approached the suspect, who suddenly fired a gun at him. The suspect chased the guard, firing additional rounds at him. The guard was not hit by any of the rounds.

As units arrived, deputies Walsh and Bradbury spotted the suspect, a 16-year-old Victorville resident. Walsh and Bradbury chased the suspect on foot and apprehended him on Kimberly Drive. They also recovered the firearm.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered the suspect was responsible for two other crimes which occurred earlier that night.

A 22-year-old Victorville man was at Pebble Beach Park with friends at approximately 8:40PM, when the suspect shot him in the shoulder. The victim was treated at a local hospital.

At approximately 10:23PM, the suspect approached a car parked in a retail center on Valley Center Circle. The car was occupied by a Victorville couple and their young child. The suspect ordered the man out of the car and demanded his belongings. The woman told the suspect that the young child was in the car. The male was able to get back in the car and they fled from the location.

The suspect, who also had an outstanding warrant, was arrested and booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for attempted murder, participating in a criminal street gang, attempted carjacking, and robbery.
