5 wounded in 3 separate San Bernardino shootings overnight; one woman critically wounded


SAN BERNARDINO >> Police are investigating three separate shootings overnight that sent five people to area hospitals, including one woman who’s clinging to life after being shot in the head.

About 11:13 p.m. Wednesday a woman and two men were reported shot in front of a home at 663 W. 14th St., according to a police news release. The woman suffered a gunshot wound to her head and was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, the news release states. Family members said she also suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and stomach.

The other two victims suffered “multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds,” the news release states.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to another shooting near the intersection of 8th and E streets. Police have yet to release details surrounding that incident, but they said the victim was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday, police responded to another shooting in front of a home in the 1700 block of North D Street. The victim was also taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

Police were unable to release any more details about the shootings at the time of this report.

In all three cases, the shooters fled the scene and remain at large. Police ask anyone with information about any of the shootings to call 909-384-5742.

The shootings come just days after Harold Cook, 49, was fatally gunned down in the 900 block of North G Street, and Christopher Anthony Martinez, 29, was shot and killed in the 1500 block of N. Mountain View Avenue.
