SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAINS >> In the wake of environmental damage caused by the Blue Cut fire, the San Bernardino National Forest announced Friday the closures of numerous areas effective Saturday.
The closures are intended to protect people from falling due to snags, rolling debris, water run-off and other post-fire hazards, according to a news release.
The closed areas are:
• Upper Lytle Creek Divide area
• Stockton Flats area
• Baldy Mesa OHV staging/area
• Lost Lake area
• Applewhite Campground and Truck Trail
• Sheep Canyon area
• Cajon Wash and Pass area
People will be prohibited from entering National Forest lands within the closure areas and from being on any lands, roads or trails within the areas, except for the Pacific Crest Trail, the news release states.
