HESPERIA >> A single-vehicle rollover crash early Saturday claimed the life of a 5-year-old boy and left infant twins and an 11-year-old with “serious, potentially life-threatening injuries,” according to a San Bernardino County fire news release.
When the crash was reported about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, “initial callers said a vehicle accident was heard only, and no vehicle was visible” near Ranchero Road and Sante Fe Avenue East, the news release states. First responders found the vehicle about 100 feet over the side of an embankment.
The three injured children were flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center, while the driver of the vehicle “claimed to be uninjured and refused medical treatment,” according to the release.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
