Another overnight San Bernardino shooting sends man to hospital

SAN BERNARDINO >> Another drive-by shooting overnight sent one man to an area hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, police confirmed Tuesday.

The shooting was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of West Vine Street, police spokeswoman Eileen Hards said in an email.

“The victim was a male and was shot in the leg by shooters in what is described as a dark colored vehicle that drove past him,” Hards wrote. “We didn’t get a lot of information from the victim, so we don’t have much more at this time.”

The shooting comes on the heels of a fatal shooting early Monday morning that claimed the life of a La Puente man.

Emmanuel Pacheco, 31, was pronounced dead at Loma Linda University Medical Center after he was shot in front of a home in the 100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

Police found Pacheco lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg after they received calls of a shooting in the area of Mount Vernon Avenue and Bellview Street around 12:45 a.m.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.
