VICTORVILLE — A 37-year-old Victorville male resident was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of multiple crimes, including residential burglaries, officials said.
Just after 8 a.m., a San Bernardino County Victorville Sheriff’s Station deputy responded to a call regarding a suspect stealing from a retail business at the 14000 block of Seventh Street in Victorville.
The deputy made contact with the suspect, identified as Milton Yates, 37, as he was approaching his vehicle with the stolen merchandise. The deputy recognized the vehicle to be that of the one driven by a suspect involved in a burglary earlier that same morning, officials said.
At 7 a.m that same day, the deputy had responded to a residence in the 15600 block of Gazelle Street for a residential burglary. Officials said Yates had entered the home through the garage and had already removed some property before discovering one of the occupants was home in one of the bedrooms, prompting him to flee in a silver Jeep.
Resendez recovered the property stolen from the business, as well as other property taken from the home on Gazelle Street, and Yates was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center on suspicion of burglary and it may be possible he is connected to other burglaries, officials said.
Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Victorville Sheriff's Station at 760-241-2911.
