VICTORVILLE — Authorities are continuing to investigate a rollover crash that left two injured Monday evening.
Reported at 5:55 p.m., the crash occurred near the intersection of Nisqualli Road and Arrowhead Drive. Details are scarce, but San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials said two people were hospitalized following the incident.
According to scanner traffic, gunfire followed the crash after the driver of the vehicle got out of the car and fired six to nine shots.
Sheriff’s call logs show Victorville deputies received a call reporting the “negligent discharge of a firearm” at the intersection at 5:54 p.m. Monday. The crash was reported a minute later.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller said the crash occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck a fire hydrant before overturning. She couldn’t provide details on the alleged gunfire, but said all injuries reported appeared to be traffic-related.
“Both occupants in the vehicle were transported to local area hospitals,” Miller said.
No other injuries have yet been reported.
